The Old Testament Strange as it might seem, the best way to understand the Old Testament is to first read and understand the writings of the Apostle Paul. "But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away."--2Corinthians 3:14-16, Paul is telling us that the Jewish priesthood did not even understand their very own scriptures. Unfortunately this very same affliction has infected all of the Christian churches to this very day. "Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets."--Matthew 23:31. There always existed a distinct difference between what the temple worshipping Pharisee taught, and what the prophets taught, and today's Christians follow the Pharisee, and not the prophets. "And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth."--Genesis 6:12. "And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:"--Exodus 32:7. Religion interprets this to mean the great Jewish exodus out of Egypt, but that is not the case. Here the land of Egypt refers to the left hemisphere of the brain the most carnal or lowest level of consciousness. "Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,"--Deuteronomy 4:16. How about a crucifix? By the way this is supposed to be the all knowing, all powerful God, who is only able to think of sending some poor soul to Earth to be ripped to shreds and cruelly nailed to a cross as a means to save mankind. Why not wear a mini noose, a guillotine, or a mini electric chair around your neck, and you wonder why there is so much violence in the World. "Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel."--Exodus 12:15. Unleavened bread does not mean matzah. Once again bread means understanding the word of God, and unleavened means uncorrupted like bread that uses leavening agents. The number seven stands for divine intervention which you will experience if you open yourself up to the uncorrupted word of God. If you practice this you will unite the spirit and the mind and find the God in you IS-RA-EL. "And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God."--Luke 22:15, 16. This is Jesus at the Last Supper telling his apostles that he will no longer eat, or accept religions corrupted word of God, but wait until he is able to experience the true uncorrupted word within the kingdom of God which according to Luke:17:21 is inside of you. You have to understand that the crucifixion being referred to did not take place in physical reality, but rather it occurs inside of you. "Upon my advent into spirit life, I became very anxious to seek out Moses, but with the very worst of results. I found that the ancient Chaldeans, under the name of Seth, and the Moabites, under the name of Mo, were the people from whom we Jews had been receiving our traditions and worshipping the hero of them, under the name of a prophet who never existed"--J. M. Roberts, 'Antiquity Unveiled,' the testimony of Rabbi Akiba, late first, early second century rabbi. Continued Table of Contents |
